Return to Work Planning
Beyond the initial management of claims, our focus on stay at work and return to work programs are an essential component of reducing overall WCB claim and premium costs. We work directly with you, the WCB, the employee and (where indicated) the treating healthcare professional, to design return to work plans that address the need for the employee’s safe and timely return to work, reduce the risk of repeat injury, and reduce employer costs.
Return to work plans are particularly effective for generating savings. When employees return to work they are no longer on a paid claim with WCB. Every additional day spent on an approved claim with WCB will cost you more in claims costs and drives up the cost of your annual premiums.
An effective return to work plan can not only minimize claim costs, but minor modifications can get your employees back to their pre-injury role much faster – allowing you to return to full productivity and them to return to full earnings.
Canstar Restorations
Canstar is a full service restoration company that has been operating for over 25 years with offices in Surrey, Coquitlam and Whistler BC.
In 2012, DMI facilitated eight return to work plans on behalf of Canstar which generated over $10,000 in claim cost savings that did not hit their WCB experience. Had return to work plans not been utilized, these additional costs would have been attributed to Canstar’s WCB experience on their annual assessment and would be reflective in their annual premiums for up to three years.
