Disability Management Institute, known as DMI, has been the North Vancouver School District's claims management representative for more than 10 years. In that time DMI has competently represented the school district on all aspects of claims and disability management, including being our representative in all WorkSafeBC appeals. DMI has assisted the school district in effectively managing graduated return to work programs that over the years have helped us to consistently reach "merit" positions in WorkSafeBC's Experience Rating Assessment system.
DMI's personable claims management team have a wide range of knowledge and experience in both "work related" and "non-work related" claims. DMI's direct link to the WorkSafeBC injury claims database allows them to enter injury and illness information within 24 hours of receiving injury reports from our staff.
DMI's disability management team works with WorkSafeBC, the school district, the employee and their supervisor in returning injured staff to work as quickly, and as safely, as possible. DMI conducts on-site reviews to identify job hazards and provide expert advice on ways to make the job as safe as possible for the returning employee. DMI's Return to Work Plans are quickly provided; they are easy to read and understand; and when plan revisions are required, they are provided promptly. Managers know ahead of time when staff are returning to work; in most cases there are no surprises.
